What with Boz and all his attenshun seeking stunts, I have only just had a chance to write my report on mummy and her exploits in hoppy-tall. I will keep it as brief as possible as mummy gets tired easily and I may have to hop off at a moment's notice to keep an eye on her! I also have to post a picture of the speshul nurse I arranged to look after mummy while she was in hoppy-tall - I will do that later!
Okay, so you all know that the operation went well and the surgeon was pleased with her work. As mummy's tumour was big, the surgeon said it was a 'bit bloody' when she went in, so couldn't fully see if all the tumour had been removed. The surgeon didn't want to poke around too much as she was worried she may damage the rest of the functioning pituitary.
Mummy was in a lot of pain (so daddy told us because it's all a bit hazy for mummy - something to do with the vast amount of morphine she was on for a few days!) They did various blood tests every day and made mummy write down anything she had to drink and she also had to pee in a pot (snigger) so the nurses could check her fluid balance. Mummy had to have a glucose tolerance test which would show whether her growth hormone levels had gone back down to normal range or not - this test was very important as it would indicate if the whole tumour had been removed or not. Bunfortunately, they did the test wrong the first time (it's a looooong story!!) and so had to repeat it a couple of days later, which is partly why mummy stayed in hoppy-tall longer than expected.
The results of the blood tests and the fluid balance showed that mummy's functioning pituitary has NOT been damaged (yay!), which is bunderful news. The results of the glucose tolerance test show that mummy's growth hormone level has fallen from 21 to 1.7. Whilst this is a significant drop (and meant that she would not have to have the operation repeated this wednesday), it also isn't quite low enough to confirm that the whole tumour has been removed. It needs to be below 1 to be in normnal range. The surgeon said that sometimes the growth hormone takes longer to drop so all is not lost yet.
Mummy goes for follow-up tests on 18th Jan in Taunton and will get another test to check her growth hormone level. We are praying and believing that it will be below 1 by then so that mummy won't need any more treatment. For those buns and 2-foots that pray, please join us in this prayer.
As for mummy's general well-being, she isn't struggling with headaches as they gave her a big bag of painkillers which are keeping a lid on any pain that she has. She is stooopidly tired and seems to be exhausted by the simplest of things - including giving me and Boz loves! However, Boz has ensured that she is well and truly tired out by trying to give him his baytril twice a day - Boz is being norty and keeps fighting it all the way! Mummy always looks particularly pale after these altercations with him!!
Mummy has already seen the effects of the drop in growth hormone and her face is changing back to how it used to look. She is VERY glad that her nose has got smaller(!) and her profile is less 'witch-like!'. She thinks her hands and feet have got smaller, but as she is living in jim-jams at the moment, she hasn't really worn her shoes yet to test this out.
All in all, she is very glad that she is home (as is daddy and me and Boz) She hopes to soon gain some strength and wants to be able to enjoy chris-moose. Daddy put up the chrismoose tree on his own last night (snigger) - it took him ages!!
Oh, Boz and I would like to hopologise for the fact that we won't be sending chris-moose cards this year - we just didn't get time to do it before mummy went into hoppy-tall - we hope everybun understands....
Thanks to those buns that we have already recieved chris-moose cards from and also to Bruno for our pressie! The 2-foots won't let us have it until chris-moose day but Boz said it smelled tasty!!
Ok, mummy is looking like she needs another nap, so I'm off! Hope you liked my report - please feel free to ask any questions as there is probably loads that I've missed out!!

Thought it was about time I showed you how big and pawsome I'm growing!!.
I had a little adventure today. I went for a ride in the tin box on wheels. Went to meet Mr Vet.
Of course while I was there I was greatly admired by everyone who saw me. Most of whom couldn't beleive I was only 12 weeks old.
They of course declared me to be furpect, and in the words of one vet nurse "very photogenic". Wasn't so happy when he stabbed me in the scruff with a twenty foot needle though, I thought that was quite uncalled for.
Then I was popped on the scales, and am proud to announce that at 12 weeks tommorow I already weigh 2.8kilos.
Here is my latest pawtrait.
I'm sitting in a favourite spot under the sideboard, which I also quite like chewing. Mum is less happy about this as she's trying to sell it and apparently it's an-teek! Not quite sure what an-teek is but it's very tasty!!!
Mum says there's a power struggle going on between me and Daddy.
I've decided I like the big blue sofa, which is apparently Daddy's, but I think it's mine so I dig at Daddy and force him off. Then I bounce around doing binkies from one end of the sofa to the other. I'm top buck in this house.
If Mummy puts her face down by me I likes to lick her nose. So Daddy tried it and I nipped his nose instead. HeHeHe!
Anyway here's a couple more piccies.
Me guarding my foods. I need it to keep growing big and strong.
Me just chillin!
Need to go, Dandy wants the pooter back to finish off the LIA roll call.
I'm hungry, gonna throw my food bowl about to get Mum to fill it.

They're growing fast, are quite lively (and fast!) and into everything so I was only allowed to play with them one at a time so mum could keep watch and make sure they didn't try to misbehave with me.
The Bit of Fluff's puter is now fully-restored, has its replacement RAM installed and mum thought it was time to test it out on a family video using up to 6 video tracks including HD clips. Needless to say, it couldn't handle this (as expected) but here's a simpler version of what was planned but known to be unachievable.
I'm a very, very proud buck.

As most of you will be aware, I spent the night at the vet's! Jazz was very thoughtful and decided to keep me company. Thankfully I am okay now and back home. The build up of calcium in my bladder was the problem, but it has been caught early. However I am on meddy-sin for the next week to help with my bladder problem.
I have been taking advantage of poor sick mummy by being feisty and not showing her my mouth when the time for meddy-sin arrives. Even daddy is struggling to contain my amazing strength and is threatening to wrap me in a towel next time!
On a lighter note, Jazz (the silly doe!) has just sent her Chris-Moose present over the big pond to Sweetpea. She is a bit worried that the pressie will not reach her beloved in time...her paws are crossed for a speedy delivery.

This now means I have her here at the burrow all weak-end and she's threatened to start the 6-yearly oft-postponed Big Tidy-Up of the burrow, so it's head-down Maddie-Bun and hope she doesn't find my shopping.
Before I go and hide myself away, I have more news from Jazz and Bosley's Burrow. Auntie Hayley is home and recovering slowly - she's still having some headaches and gets tired easily following her anna's fetick. As fur Boz, he's had a bit of an uncomfurtubble time. Uncle Miles rang mum last night wurried about him and, on hearing his symptoms she thought he might have cystitis, a bladder stone or bladder sludge. So he had a midnight visit to his vet where mum's distant diagnosis was confurmed. He had his bladder expressed and when he's feeling better, I'm sure he'll update his journal with details of his latest downfall. Poor Boz, he has his trubbles...
Mummy is something of an expert on stone-growing and says that bladder stones can be very uncomfurtubble and irritating rather than painful (like kid-knee stones) but they can sometimes cause a blockage. She also told me that she recalls one of young Paddy's predecessors, either Biscuit or Smokey (late-Heathcliffe's sons) once had a bladder stone. Oooooh... errrrr... I'm starting to feel a bit dizzy now at the thought of these so am heading off to my bottle for a drink and a nibble on one of mum's cranberry pills....
